Massaging pregnant women is a great way to give her a relaxed feeling. Pregnancy massage should be done after 13 weeks of pregnancy. If done before 13 weeks can cause miscarriage. Pregnancy massage causes many benefits like relief of pain, improved mother and baby’s circulation of blood, a healthier baby of good weight, improved skin conditions, decrease stress and swelling in legs and arms reduce premature birth rate. During massage the body of mother should be in proper positioning. That gives safety and comfort both to the mother and baby. Pregnancy massage is much different from the regular massage. Some of the body parts should be avoided in this massage for the safety purpose.

Precautions should be taken before going for a massage. First it is best to consult a doctor about to take pregnancy massage. Massage should be availed by a certified pregnancy massage therapist. No massage should be done on inner leg, No shaking moves on the legs, No massage should be done for a pregnant lady who is bleeding. Be careful about the personal hygiene and the products used during the massage. Rather than lying on back or belly, it is safest when a woman either lying on her side or propped semi-sitting at a 45-70 degree angle.
